SoloSafe ("we," "us," "our") operates the SoloSafe mobile application and related services.
Information Collection and Use
We collect information you provide directly: account details, emergency contacts, and timer settings. We collect location data only at timer start. We do not collect continuous location data.
Emergency Contact Consent
By adding an emergency contact in SoloSafe, you confirm that you have obtained explicit consent from that person to receive safety alerts on your behalf. SoloSafe does not verify this consent independently. You are solely responsible for ensuring all emergency contacts have agreed to receive SMS, WhatsApp, and/or email alerts from our service.
Alert Content and Delivery
When a timer expires and the user has not checked in, emergency contacts will receive messages containing: the user's name, the activity type, the user's last known GPS location (as a Google Maps link), and a pre-written alert message. These messages are sent via SMS and WhatsApp.
Delivery disclaimer: Alert delivery is not guaranteed in offline or low-signal conditions. If the user's device has no cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity at the time of timer expiration, alerts may be delayed until signal returns, or may fail to deliver entirely. SoloSafe is not responsible for missed or delayed alerts due to network conditions, device failure, or third-party service outages.
Log Data
We receive error logs and device information when alerts fail to deliver, for troubleshooting only.
Cookies
We do not use cookies. Our app platform (Glide) may use session tokens for authentication.
Service Providers
We employ third-party companies to facilitate our service:
- Twilio (SMS and WhatsApp messaging via Meta)
- Make.com (automation and alert dispatching)
- Google (hosting and data storage)
- PayPal (payment processing)
These providers access data only to perform tasks on our behalf.
SMS/WhatsApp Messaging Disclosure: SoloSafe does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or any personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Message frequency varies based on user activity — typically one alert message per timer expiry event. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out, reply STOP to any message received.
Security
We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If discovered, we delete immediately.
International Users
Data is processed in the United States. By using SoloSafe, you consent to this transfer.
